
Researcher biography
Dr Kirsten Adlard is an Honorary Senior Fellow at The University of Queensland and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Her research focuses on the prevention and long‑term management of chronic disease, with particular expertise in cardiovascular health, cancer survivorship, and population‑level exercise interventions. Kirsten’s work emphasises the translation of evidence into real‑world settings, including community co‑designed programs and large‑scale trials aimed at reducing disease risk and improving quality of life. She has collaborated extensively with the National Heart Foundation of Australia and contributes to interdisciplinary research spanning public health, clinical exercise science, and health systems implementation.
